With more than 20 years at Ruhl&Ruhl Realtors, having supervised 1,000s of transactions including over 50 I personally closed, I bring experience, honesty, and a refreshingly straightforward approach to real estate.
I believe the best way to serve my clients is simple: ask the right questions, tell the truth, and make sure people know what they’re walking into. I will lay out the best-case, worst-case, and most-likely scenarios rather than simply tell someone what they want to hear. My goal is to help clients make informed decisions and feel confident throughout the process.
I primarily serve Dubuque County, while also working with clients throughout Iowa, Illinois, and Wisconsin. Growing up in a farm family taught me the value of hard work, while my early career as a bricklayer taught me a lesson that still guides me today: “Lay them straight and speed will come with time.”
I especially enjoy working with decisive clients and investment-property buyers, and I thrive when a transaction gets complicated. I enjoy solving problems, getting to know people, and figuring out what truly matters to them.
Outside of real estate, I am a movie buff who frequently quotes my favorites, I enjoy cycling, including participating in RAGBRAI and appreciate a good day at the beach. My wife, Sarah, and I are “nesters with a varying level of emptiness,” enjoying time with our family and at our vacation home in St. Croix.
I am also passionate about the Dubuque community. I spent eight years on the Dubuque County Fair Association Board of Directors, have supported Habitat for Humanity fundraising, and previously organized a charity kickball tournament for five years.
After more than two decades in real estate, my philosophy remains straightforward: work hard, be honest, treat everyone fairly, and do what you say you’ll do.
